Posada del Lucero has a great location in Seville's shopping area just north of all the main historic attractions like Plaza de España and the Cathedral. It’s next to the San Pedro Church and Sierpes street, Tetuán and Encarnación Square, the city's new cultural centre. It’s also just steps from the iconic Metropol Parasol (aka Las Setas), a striking wooden structure that’s equal parts meeting point, viewing platform, and work of art.
Housed in a 16th-century inn that was refurbished in 2006, Posada del Lucero is an elegant hotel with two stylish courtyards - one large and central, and the other a more intimate patio - and a pretty roof terrace. Thanks to its history, the hotel has been declared a National Monument and a Heritage of Cultural Interest. It’s especially noted for its traditional architecture; think marble columns in the lobby and sleek arched doorways throughout.
All of the 38 rooms have a pleasing minimalist style and are fitted with walnut furniture designed by architect Adolfo Pérez López. They surround the peaceful central patios, making for a quiet atmosphere, and the beds are large and comfortable. Some of the rooms also have exposed brick walls, adding a hip New York vibe.
In the mornings, guests can help themselves to a buffet breakfast that includes indulgent treats like sparkling Cava and freshly cooked hot meals. There’s also a bar-cafe in the hotel that’s open all day.
