What is the Naschmarkt?

The Naschmarkt is an old sprawl of stalls, shops, cafes and restaurants in the very heart of Vienna. The market's origin as a fruit and vegetable paradise remains one of its biggest draws for the locals while numerous other food stalls have gradually entered the scene offering a wide array of cheese, cured meats, local breads and much much more.

Visiting on Saturday is a good idea as the number of stalls peaks and the market extends into the car park which transforms into a giant flea market with all manner of random items on sale.
