Due to its history of very rarely being independent and having been founded by an Arab governor, and its many rules under several different empires, Ganja has several influencers, making the city what it is today. You only have to take one look of Ganja to see these differing influences - its buildings range from Arab-esque, Soviet architecture, to more traditional religious takes. With almost European looking streets and pretty views, Ganja is a place everyone should visit. Simply, a breath of fresh air.
Differing from the capital, Ganja isn’t overwhelmingly busy and doesn’t have too many tourist attractions. However, the laid back environment means that people are extremely hospitable and it’s known that you will get a real feel for life in Azerbaijan here.
