The Groeningemuseum is part of the Musea Brugge family of museums dotted around the town. The museum itself is located in a number of different rooms, many of which have recently been restored.
The museum houses a wide range of Flemish and Belgium paintings ranging from early Renaissance to 19th-century Realist pieces and some modern art. This extensive collection includes famous artists such as Jan van Eyck and Hans Memling.
Altogether, the 11 rooms contain some of the finest examples of the region's art in the world and, quite unusually, the exhibition includes paintings from across a period of six centuries. Do visit for an immersive experience and to recharge your culture batteries.
