Lush gardens, a quaint town centre and the ornate Bishop’s Palace make Kroměříž in the Czech Republic one of the most postcard-worthy places in the country. It’s also a great place to stay while exploring other destinations in the area like Olomouc, which hosts an annual Baroque opera festival, and Luhačovice, a well-known spa town nearby.
Kromeriz is 232 kilometres southeast of Prague, near the Morava river in the Zlín Region. Known for the picturesque Archbishop’s Chateau and Gardens and the colourful Park Kvetna Zahrada, there are clearly plenty of places here to escape into nature. Kromeriz is also not far from Opava, which is home to so many historic monuments that it’s known as the white pearl of Silesia (a region of central Europe encompassing parts of Poland, the Czech Republic and Germany).
