The Roman Baths

England > Bath

Founded on natural hot springs, the Roman baths located in this English City was constructed around 70 AD - both a religious spa and socialising spot. It is still perfectly preserved and known to be one of the most preserved Roman ruins in the world.

Although unable to go into the spa presently due to the poison in the led pipes used centuries ago to maintain the structure, you can walk around the Roman baths and see what it would have been like giving its untouched nature. Below street level with gorgeous pillars and statues looking down, this is a reason alone to visit Bath.

Not just occupied by the baths, the site includes to museums: the fashion museum and the Victoria Art Gallery. For an even more special visit, pop to the Roman baths during the summer months and enjoy the torchlit summer evenings the organisers put on - this isn't a place to miss.
