Old Kent Market

England > Margate

Right across the street from the renowned Turner Contemporary art gallery is a distinctive bright red building that houses the Old Kent Market. This converted cinema on Margate's seafront promenade is home to green grocers, pubs, cafes and food stalls, making it the perfect spot for grabbing breakfast before heading off on a walk along the Viking Coastal Trail. Just try to resist the smell of freshly baked pastries as soon as you walk in!

The interior of Old Kent Market reflects Margate's quirky spirit. Look out for offbeat sculptures, paintings and an entire double-decker bus that's been transformed into a coffee shop. There are also artists selling homemade crafts inspired by Margate and the seaside.

Vegan and vegetarian options are also available at a number of eateries within the Old Kent Market. Whatever you're in the mood for, it's definitely worth popping in to have a look!
