Sort of like New York City's DUMBO district or Shoreditch in London, the super hip LX Factory neighbourhood is where you'll find Lisbon's cool kids. This industrial area is home to an array of bohemian shops, independent restaurants and art displays, all set beneath the Ponte 25 de Abril suspension bridge. Disused buildings have been transformed into stylish concept stores and hipster-friendly yoga studios, and beer gardens fill up with young movers and shakers as soon as the sun comes out. There's also a lively flea market every Sunday, with records and handmade crafts galore.
LX Factory symbolises the youthful regeneration taking place all over Lisbon. Spend an afternoon here and get the full experience by perusing vintage shops, snacking on vegan treats and rummaging through second-hand bookstores. It's not on your average Lisbon tourism itinerary, and it's got a creative spirit that's hard to ignore!
