Aquarium Finisterrae

Spain > La Coruña

Whether you’re travelling with kids or interested in wildlife and the fishing culture in La Coruna, it’s worth spending an afternoon at the Aquarium Finisterrae (which means ‘aquarium at the end of the Earth’). Here you’ll see sharks, eels, octopi, an outdoor sea lion enclosure and other wildlife as well as family-friendly interactive exhibits. There’s also a pleasant cafe restaurant inside if the little ones are in need of a snack.

This site is very near the Tower of Hercules, so if you want you can roll the two places into one sightseeing trip.

Travel tip: Don’t forget to go downstairs to the underwater Nautilus room that recreates scenes from Jules Verne’s Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea.
