We're not kidding when we say there's a stellar food scene here. In fact, San Sebastian has more Michelin stars per capita than anyone else in the world! You'll find different types of cuisine in the city's different neighbourhoods. Visit Gros for laid-back cafes with a hipster vibe, while Centro is home to classic culinary stalwarts that serve up consistently top-rate dishes. And if you want good value, hop between the many pintxo bars in La Parte Vieja (old town). Make sure you save some room for ice cream!

Things to do in San Sebastian

Apart from eating your own weight in fresh oysters and tapas, there are plenty of other things to do in San Sebastian. The city has year-round cultural events that are world famous - like the Festival de Cine (International Film Festival), which brings Hollywood stars and famous European figures to the city in September. And in August, the Semana Grande is a week-long party featuring music, theatre and fireworks.

You can also explore the city's many museums and cultural sites including Museo de San Telmo, Miramar Royal Palace and Basilica de Santa Maria del Coro.
