The royal palace of Real Alcazar, which was originally built by Moorish rulers in the 10th century, is a stunning example of the architectural style that makes Andalucia so magical. It features Mudejar techniques (a mix of Moorish and Christian styles) as well as some Renaissance and Gothic elements, creating a unique and stunning sight.
The most recent iteration of the palace was completed in the 14th century under the direction of King Pedro.
Apart from its rich history, another aspect that draws visitors to Real Alcazar are the many peaceful courtyards within the palace. These are filled with bubbling fountains, exquisite sculptures and a maze of pathways. The scenery is so enchanting that it was even featured in the Game of Thrones TV series!
This grand palace is truly sprawling, so we suggest taking a few hours to get the most out of it. And book your tickets online in advance if you want to avoid queues!
