Vasamuseet

Sweden > Stockholm

Known as one of the greatest warships built, a lot of speculation still remains around what really happened to the Vasa ship after setting sail. The Vasa Musuem displays the ship in all its glory and gives you detailed displays of the ways it was found and certain precautions taken to make sure the ship remains preserved. The museum has over 3 floors and the ship is set in the middle. Dim lighting to make sure the wood work isn't damaged and interactive displays for children as well as skeletons of those found on the ship and stories of each person, the Vasa is a must visit when you're in Stockholm.

The museum goes further and has scaled versions to show you what the ship would have looked like inside when off at sea, shows you what sorts of chalks and stones were used as paints on the ship, and the types of items people would have kept and types of clothes worn. The Vasa allows you to step into 17th Century Sweden.
