Castell Aberystwyth was built in the 13th century in response to the First Welsh War in a lengthy series of Anglo-Welsh wars. What was once a fully built castle built in war and built for protection of the Welsh land, now remains as ruins. The ruins left located near Aberystwyth's south beach tell a story. Main parts of the castle still stand with obvious destruction from war and the short doorways depict how shorter people were back in 1200s.
See university students sitting on benches reading books to little kids running around the grounds in excitement. Stand ontop of some of the ruins and overlook the Irish sea and get lost in the beauty that is Aberystwyth.
